Olga Bergmann - Vanishing point
The works at the exhibition refer to different interpretations of the idea of a Vanishing Point.
Vanishing Point is an optical illusion resembling three dimensions on a two dimensional surface where parallel lines in perspective are drawn together to one point, the Vanishing Point, and what is beyond that is invisible to us. The words can also refer to a Vanishing Point in the biological environment of Earth caused by humans, creating a disturbance of the balance of Earth and a resulting fast degeneration.
The works at the exhibition also refer to the thoughts of Gaia – Lovelocks teachings that life on Earth is one huge body or organism that continuously seeks ways to regain balance when it has been upset.
